Pause: Mindfulness Meditation

Learn about & practice mindfulness, & discuss using these tools to enhance our relationship with ourselves and others. Drop-in when you’re available. You do not need to come every week. Facilitated by Wendy O’Leary. Wendy O’Leary is hosting at the library and online via Zoom. Pause meets every Tuesday from  9:00 am – 10:00 am. Knit & Crochet With Us

Teens and adults are welcome to bring their crochet and knitting projects to work on. We meet Tuesdays 10:30-11:30am and  Wednesdays from 3:00-4:00pm. Do you need crochet and/or knitting help or suggestions for a new project? Just want to knit with friends? Drop in and see what it’s all about!

 

Writers Unite

The writers’ group meets the 3rd Monday of each month. If there is a holiday, the meeting will be held on the 2nd Monday of that month.

Meetings are held from 5:30pm -7:00pm at the Richard Sugden Library.

Meetings consist of writing prompts, sharing individual work and inspiring writing. Bring some of your current writing, pencil and paper.

2026 Reading Book Challenge

Massachusetts Center for the Book

12 Months 12 Books
  • January: A book published or about the year you were born

  • February: A book with the name of a city in the title

  • March: A book about someone with a marginalized identity

  • April: A book about books, bookstores, or libraries

  • May: A book with a first sentence of eight words or less

  • June: A book that spans multiple generations

  • July: A book you were drawn to by its cover

  • August: A book with a protagonist who is a teenager or

    senior citizen

  • September: A book told in non-chronological order

  • October: A book published by a Massachusetts press

  • November: A cookbook or book about food

  • December: Another book by an author you’ve already read

How the challenge works:

  • Choose a book that fits the monthly challenge.

  • After you read, fill out this form to tell us about the book.

    • Using our submission manager, you will be able to log in and access the entries you’ve logged throughout the year.

    • Dedicated readers will be invited to a year-end celebration hosted by Mass Center for the Book.

    • We will be drawing two names on the last day of each month to win a free book! Make sure you get those entries in before the end of the month.

    • If you read a book in each of the 12 months, you will be entered in a drawing to win 1 of 2 totes filled with books.
